Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 2025

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the relationship between you and Stella Edu-Centre (a division of Lawrence Properties Pty Ltd, Reg. No. 2021/686455/07). By accessing our website or enrolling in any of our educational programs, you agree to be bound by the following terms:

1. Nature of Service

Stella Edu-Centre is a private academic centre that provides GED® and Pre-GED preparatory education for learners aged 16 and older, either in-person or remotely. We are not a traditional CAPS-based school and do not issue Grade 12 certificates directly. Instead, we prepare learners to write the GED exams, which are recognized by SAQA as equivalent to NQF Level 4.

2. Admission and Enrolment

Enrolment at Stella Edu-Centre is voluntary. Learners are accepted year-round based on space availability and the submission of a completed enrolment form, required documents, and payment of the applicable registration fees. Admission is not a guarantee of academic success or GED exam pass.

3. Fees and Payment

All fees, including registration, curriculum, and examination costs, are to be paid in advance. Our current fee structure is available on the website and may be subject to change with at least two months’ notice. Failure to make timely payments may result in penalties, suspension of services, or referral to debt collection.

Accepted payment options:

  • Monthly

  • Termly (5–10% discount)

  • Annually (10–15% discount)

All registration and exam fees are non-refundable.

4. Cancellation and Withdrawal

Should you wish to withdraw your child from Stella Edu-Centre, a written notice of one full calendar month is required. If notice is not given, a final month’s fees will still be charged. Registration and exam fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.

5. Code of Conduct

All learners must abide by the behavioural expectations and academic policies of Stella Edu-Centre. These include respectful conduct, active participation, and cooperation with facilitators. Repeated violations may result in disciplinary action or termination of enrolment.

Parents and guardians are also expected to engage directly with management regarding concerns, rather than using social media or public forums.

6. Parental Responsibilities

By enrolling a learner, the parent/guardian agrees to:

  • Support the educational process and Stella Edu-Centre’s policies.

  • Ensure timely payment of all applicable fees.

  • Communicate openly with staff and management.

  • Refrain from actions that may damage the reputation or operations of Stella Edu-Centre.

7. Indemnity and Liability

While every effort is made to ensure a safe learning environment, Stella Edu-Centre is not liable for any loss, theft, damage, or injury occurring on or off-site, unless due to proven gross negligence. By enrolling, parents/guardians consent to their child participating in learning activities, including outings or remote learning, and authorize medical treatment in emergencies.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Stella Edu-Centre complies with POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act). Any personal information collected through enrolment forms or our website will be used solely for administrative and educational purposes and will not be shared with third parties without consent.

9. Jurisdiction

All legal matters arising from these Terms or any agreement with Stella Edu-Centre shall fall under the jurisdiction of the Magistrate’s Court of South Africa, in accordance with the Magistrates’ Court Act of 1944.
